Rodrick's Story

Rodrick is the kind of cat people stop and look at twice.

His coat is a rich brown tabby, but not the ordinary kind. His pattern is unique and eye catching, with intricate swirls and stripes that look almost painted on. And then there are his eyes. A striking amber that gives him a gentle, slightly dreamy expression.

He has a small, chirpy little meow most of the time, like he is politely checking in. But when Rodrick wants attention, he talks. He will stand by the door or press himself against the kennel, brushing and stretching toward you, chatting away like he has something very important to say. Usually it is just that he wants to be pet.

Rodrick came to us at just a week old, completely alone and hungry, with no mom or siblings. One of our nursing moms took him in without hesitation, and he grew up alongside her babies as if he had always belonged there.

That softness stayed with him.

He is an incredibly gentle, docile boy. A certified cuddle bug who just wants to be close. He might seem a little shy for a brief moment when meeting someone new, but it passes quickly. He just needs a second to realize you are there to love him. Because once he knows, he is all in.

Rodrick loves people. He leans into affection, asks for it, and soaks it up every chance he gets. He has spent his whole kittenhood with us, so the outside world is still a little new, but loving people is not new to him at all.

Also important. He loves to eat.

His adoption fee is $75 and includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines and preventatives and microchip ID.
