Meet Rodney.<br/>Not every cat makes a grand entrance.<br/>Some simply curl up beside you...and before you know it, they've become your favorite part of the day.<br/>Rodney is a 2 year old sweetheart with a gentle soul, kind eyes, and the calm, easygoing personality that makes a house feel like home. He's the kind of cat who doesn't need to be the center of attention. Instead, he quietly builds a bond with his people until one day you realize you can't imagine life without him.<br/>Rodney believes life is best enjoyed at a slower pace.<br/>A sunny window.<br/>A comfortable couch.<br/>A favorite person nearby.<br/>Maybe a few squirrels putting on an afternoon performance outside.<br/>That's what he considers a perfect day.<br/>One of Rodney's favorite places in the world is perched high on his cat tree, where he keeps a careful eye on the neighborhood. Birds fluttering by? Fascinating. Squirrels racing through the trees? Better than cable television. He could happily spend hours watching the wildlife outside while occasionally giving you an update with a content little blink.<br/>When the day's important 'neighborhood surveillance' duties are complete, Rodney happily trades his lookout post for the couch.<br/>Movie night?<br/>Count him in.<br/>His foster mom says one of his favorite traditions is curling up beside her for an evening of television, especially if his special treats make an appearance. In Rodney's opinion, every good movie should come with snacks.<br/>(He's not wrong.)<br/>Rodney has a wonderfully gentle nature. While he may be a little reserved when meeting new people, he's never anything but sweet. To be considered for adoption, please read the full biography of the animal you're interested in, then complete our adoption application at www.dpsrescue.org/adopt. IMPORTANT: Do NOT submit a Petfinder "Start Your Inquiry" form—these inquiries are not reviewed and will delay the adoption process. If we feel there may be a match, our Interview Team will contact you. If we mutually agree to move forward, we'll arrange a meeting at our Palo Alto location. A $50 deposit (applied toward the adoption fee) is required to reserve the first opportunity to meet.
