Rocky (FIV+)'s Story

Rocky was found roughing it in an alley after presumably being abandoned. Those who found him quickly realized he was far more comfortable training in the indoors! Despite his solid build and rough exterior, Rocky is a sweet guy with a healthy sense of adventure, a wide range of meows he frequently loves to show off, and an affinity for being close to you (but not too close!). If you decide to give Rocky the life he deserves, you will find him sleeping in the warmest sun beams in the house and chasing whatever toys you provide. Rocky is happy to sleep on the couch, and occasionally rub against your leg or lay on you lap for a few pets.

His time on the streets did not leave Rocky unscathed. In a stressful environment, Rocky is easily overwhelmed, so he is looking for a slower-paced household where he can be a bachelor cat. Rocky's scrappy attitude will sometimes come out when he becomes overwhelmed, and he will bite. As such, we recommend Rocky goes into a home without children. Rocky is happiest when provided a peaceful and sunshine-filled space of his own, where he can watch birds out the window, meow in many octaves for pets, and chase cat toys around the house.

Rocky unfortunately contracted FIV when he was outdoors. Though Rocky appears to be in the asymptomatic stages of the virus, and he can reasonably live a happy, full, and lengthy life for the remainder of his years, FIV+ cats do require certain considerations. Please do your own research or reach out with any questions about adopting an FIV+ cat. We do hope you’ll consider giving this fighter the life he deserves beside you!

If interested in Rocky, please reach out to Jonathan at jpk.simon@pm.me. Thank you!
