Rocky's Story

This is Rocky. Rocky was named after the boxer, because when he came in, he looked like he'd gone twelve rounds. Scabbed up, roughed up, and clearly worn down by a hard life on the streets, Rocky has every reason to be on edge. And yeah... he kind of looks like he's mad about it, too. His ears? Permanent airplane mode. His face? A perfect grump. But Rocky has never once hissed at us. Not once.

That big, tough exterior hides a heart that's just scared and unsure. He makes himself small even though he's a big boy. He is always curling into corners or ducking down low...until you reach out gently and give him some scratches. That's when the shift happens. His eyes soften. His body relaxes. He realizes he's safe.

Rocky is FIV+, which might explain why life was extra tough on him, but he's doing great with the other cats in the shelter. He hasn't been around dogs yet, so we're unsure there. What we do know is that this sweet, worried guy just needs someone to sit with him. Someone to tell him he's a good boy. Because he is. He really is.

Rocky is the kind of cat who will blossom with patience and love. The kind of cat who just needs a little extra time to feel safe, and then he'll give you everything he's got. And after what he's been through? He deserves that chance. Come meet Rocky. Give him the time of day. He's ready for his comeback story.

Fur All Kittys's Adoption Policy
Adopting a pet is more than just bringing home an animal. When you adopt, you add another member to your family. You take on another mouth to feed, another living thing to look after and care for, another responsibility. We just want to make sure that everyone in the home is prepared for this process. When you adopt from us, we will ensure that the initial care for the animal has been provided, with some exceptions. We will make the transition to your home as easy as possible. Follow up care, however, will be entirely your responsibility. Adoption fees vary, but you will be quoted an exact price prior to finalizing any decisions. The fee can vary just due to costs of spay/neuter and any medical care in addition to the basic care that is provided prior to adopting. You can pay through PayPal, Venmo, Square (fees added), or with cash. You may be required to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to ensure a home for the animal.
