Rocky's Story
Two Special Bonded Cats hoping for a Special Forever Home

Rocky and Sterling (aka Sissy) are sweet and loving cats, who are just over a year old. They are thought to be part of a group of kittens seen being dumped in a rural area of El Dorado County last Christmas Eve. We think they are brother and sister, as they have always been very close and protective of eachother.
Rocky is very sweet and loves attention and being pet, and will often rub against legs to show affection. He is not yet a big fan of being picked up and held, but will tolerate it for short periods of time. He prefers to sprawl on the floor for pets, or sit close to you and maybe nibble your toes!
Sterling, who is called "Sissy" by her foster parents, was slower to trust than Rocky, but has come so far in her time in foster. She does not request the attention that Rocky does, although she has continued to become more sweet and loving with time. She loves to be pet, especially when she's in her bed, and will rub noses with her foster mom.
They are mostly mellow young cats who are found daily with their ams wrapped around eachother and kissing! Afterwards, they may chase and wrestle for a bit, until Rocky gets a little rough for Sissy's liking! They also love to play with their favorite plastic coil toys!
The perfect home for this bonded pair would be a somewhat quiet home with someone, or a family, with prior cat guardianship experience. Since their foster home is the first home they have had, they will likely be quite shy in their new home for a bit, so patience and routine will be needed. They have showed curiosity around doors, so care must be taken to insure they cannot get outside. They have not had any exposure to dogs or children while in their foster home.

Additional info:
They are currently kennel trained and go into their kennels willingly at dinner time. They remain in the kennels until morning.

They are currently eating Science Diet adult dry food, but have discerning tastes on their wet food. They would eat Merrick Purrfect Bistro Bon Appetits (beef flavor only) and Weruva chicken pate. They enjoy their dinner topped with Friskies Lil Shakes chicken flavor (one packet will cover both meals) and topped with one tube of Churu! They enjoy sharing one Churu tube at mid-day.

Quirky things about Rocky:
He often prefers to use his paw to scoop out his dry kibble and eat off his kennel blanket...he's teaching this to his sister! He will jump on the kitchen counter (their foster room) but jump down immediately when caught!

Rocky is particular when it comes to his litter box...he makes sure everything is well covered, so a high-sided or covered litter box will be necessary!

Sissy's Medical Needs:
Sissy has slight incontinence with urine and will leave small wet spots where she lays/sleeps sometimes. She has been on trial medications and tried different routines that have helped to minimize her accidents, but they do still occur. They are easy to manage with potty pads/waterproof blankets and a load of laundry here and there. Outside of these accidents, she uses the litter box regularly and is a very clean girl!

These two amazing kitties are on the hunt for a cat savvy home willing to give them the chance at a lifetime of care, patience, and love! Could that be you?

If you are interested in Sissy & Rocky, please email info@animaloutreach.net to inquire about next steps!
