Rocket's Story
Rocket came to us very sick at a couple weeks old. He spent his first few weeks in and out of an incubator on oxygen with regular breathing treatments. Testing revealed Mycoplasma, which he has recoved from and Calici Virus. He has been seen by multiple vets and we have consulted with even more on his condition. He had a sedated exam which showed no polyps or a need for a nasal flush. He has been treated with many different meds that did not fully clear his symptoms. In the 7 months he has spent in foster care he has had varying degrees of nasal congestion and sneezing. He has never fully been symptom free and often needs his nose suctioned. It's not uncommon to see his tongue hanging out due to congestion especially during sleep. Stress or seasonal changes can exacerbate his congestion. It is also possible his condition will improve in a quieter home with less pets.

It's time for Rocket to find his forever home that understands his health needs. Nothing keeps this guy down and he is very tolerant for all he has been through. He remains loving and wants to be with people. He follows his foster around. He likes all toys and very much enjoys playing with the other kittens in his foster home. He naps with the other cats and small dogs. But his favorite place to be is on your lap and in your bed.

To keep everyone safe, Rocket would love to be your one and only or live with other feline friends who have already conquered Calici or are vaccinated against it.

An adopter must understand he may always have symptoms and/or be a carrier of Calici Virus. He will need regular vet checks and be watched for the potential to develop gingivitis. More information can be given upon inquiry.

Will you be the one to give this sweet boy the home he deserves?

Adoption fee is $150. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, given age-appropriate vaccines, dewormed and kept up to date on flea prevention.

If you’re interested in adopting, please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CMR/Cat
