Rocco's Story

Meet Rocco: Extra Skin, Extra Personality, and Absolutely No Refunds!

Well, hello there, humans! My name is Rocco, and I’m approximately 6 years old, formerly employed as a professional street cat. That’s right, I was a stray, just out there living my life until somebody decided I needed a little assistance.

Apparently, I was a bit of a fixer-upper.

First, my eyelids were rolling inward. It’s called entropion, and let me tell you, having your eyelashes constantly rubbing your eyeballs is NOT a good time. Thankfully, the humans got that fixed with surgery.

Then they started investigating my skin.

Listen, I don’t know what the big deal is. So I’ve got enough loose skin to fit another entire cat inside me. IS THAT A CRIME?!

Apparently, my skin is unusually stretchy and delicate. I’ve gotten a few scratches that haven’t healed as quickly as they should, and sometimes my skin tears more easily than expected.

The humans suspect I might have something called feline cutaneous asthenia, which is basically the cat version of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It’s a rare connective tissue disorder that can cause stretchy, fragile skin.

Now, before anybody starts diagnosing me through their phone, let me clarify: This is only suspected, NOT confirmed through testing. My humans just want you to know that I may need a little extra care and protection throughout my life.

But enough about my medical records. Let’s discuss ME.

First of all, I LOVE PEOPLE!

Seriously, I have never met a human I didn’t like. Strangers? Never heard of them. As far as I’m concerned, everyone is just a friend who hasn’t had the privilege of holding me yet.

And speaking of being held, PICK ME UP! PLEASE!

I absolutely LOVE being carried around and cuddled. You can hold me, snuggle me, and tell me how handsome I am. I will happily accept all of it. Personal space? That’s more of a suggestion than a requirement.

I’m also a playful guy! I enjoy having fun, exploring, and doing normal cat things. I just need a home where the other cats aren’t auditioning for the WWE.

Seriously. No wrestling matches, no cage fights, and absolutely no flying tackles from the top rope.

My skin might not appreciate that.

I’d do best in a calm home, either as your one and only or with gentle, friendly cats who understand personal space. I don’t mind having roommates, provided they’re not jerks.

Oh, and one more thing. I have TWO toenails growing out of one dewclaw. Not an extra toe. Just an extra toenail. Apparently, whoever assembled me had a few leftover parts.

So here’s the deal.

I’m approximately 6 years old, I’ve survived life on the streets, I’ve had my eyeballs repaired, and I’m walking around wearing enough extra skin for two cats.

I’m not defective. I’m a limited edition.

All I need now is someone who understands that I might require a little extra care, a peaceful place to call home, and a whole lot of love. Preferably someone with two functioning arms, because I fully intend to spend a considerable amount of time in them.

So, what do you say? Wanna take home the world’s most adorable bag of spare cat parts?

Love,
Rocco

Veterans adopt free with proof of service.
