Roadie25's Story
Roadie was found on the roadside in such horrible shape that we didn't think he would make it, especially after testing positive for FELV and FIV. He was anemic, had a broken leg, mange, and mites. He never stopped purring and his will to live pulled him through.

With vet care, love, a warm bed and lots of food and snuggles, Roadie has flourished and is well on his way to having the greatest glow up/come back story ever! Despite losing all of his teeth, he chows down on his dry food just as enthusiastically as his wet food. His beautiful fur has grown back to a medium length and should be brushed periodically to prevent mats.

He's playful, loving, very energetic, and silly. However, he doesn't have great social skills since he probably had no playmates to teach him not to be so rough when playing as a young kitten. He will swipe at you with his claws when you walk past him. He just doesn't want you to leave him and will follow you all around the house to stay near you. He's obsessed with fingers and will reach out with his claws to grab your hands while your petting him so he can gnaw on your fingers. He also likes to attack your feet when you're in bed, so cover those tootsies!

Roadie is always up for playing with the wand toy or with his foster brother, Decibel. Sometimes Decibel can get annoyed with Roadie wanting to wrestle and chase him around when he's not in the mood to play. His foster sister isn't interested in playing with him at all, but Roadie will antagonize her none the less. He has learned the spray bottle is not fun, so it helps to correct some of his bad habits.

The perfect home for Roadie is an experienced cat family (NOT a first time cat owner) with no small children or female cats. If you have the patience to continue working on improving his manners and keep him well groomed, then you will get a sweet loving boy who keeps you entertained with tons of energy and loud purrs. He may not sit still for lengthy cuddles, but he will let you pick him up and carry/snuggle/kiss him for a bit.

He enjoys napping in the window seat and will also sleep with you at night. If you are looking for a cat who is focused on how fabulous today is without a concern for how rough yesterday was, Roadie is for you! He is FELV positive so he needs a home with other confident FELV male cats or he can be your only cat.For more information or to apply to adopt, please go to: https://www.purrpartners.org/adopt/
