Ritz (& Triskit)- Bonded siblings & longest residents's Story

Mountain View Trails & Tails Foster Camp for the Jefferson Pound in Lake Hopatcong, NJ (pt. 4!):

Update from the Head camp counselor at Base Camp:

"This week the cat counselors were introduced and allowed to share some activities with our new campers (Ritz, M, 1. 5y & Triskit, F, 1.5y). Catnip, rock climbing (cat scratchers), and cardio excersizes with the wand toys were on the schedule. Brother Ritz is enjoying exploring the camp grounds and watching the daily happenings. Sister Triskit likes to watch all the camp shenanigans from afar, except for when it comes to chasing her toy!
.
.
A more "real" update:

Ritz is quietly exploring the house, and trying to just casually blend in with the other cats. He is taking full body and head pets and is purring happily when he gets that attention. He's progressing nicely!

Triskit is certainly the work in progress. She will not take pets, but will take a treat. She's keeping her distance from the other cats when they come down, and will on occasion give a hiss when they approach too close. The good thing is she's NOT hiding where she can't be seen. She's sitting out and checking out what's going on. She hasn't been out of her little room yet, and I think this weekend we're going to see if we can get her out to explore the rest of the house."

It certainly sounds like these two campers are making some nice progress at foster camp, and we are all eagerly awaiting more progress reports before their return to the pound. It goes to set an example of what the first few weeks or months will look like if you chose to adopt these two trailblazers, and is really nice to see!
I will add- Triskit at the pound did not object to a cat hopping into her safe space to say hello, however, she had plenty of time to observe before hand and may just not appreciate the welcoming squad just yet. ;)

These two arrived at the pound as tiny kittens 10/4/24, and all their littermates have left. They are our only 2024 holdovers and desperately need a home of their own. Fiv/felv neg, spayed and neutered. We really want to see these two go home together at this point.
.
.
.
If you're interested in adding Triskit & Ritz to your home, please fill out our preadopt form, here!:

https://jefferson.seamlessdocs.com/f/preadopt

And if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to DM Audacity's Cat Reviews or The Real Cats Ride Again on Facebook, and we can get you in touch with their foster mom to help answer any additional questions!

Previous camp update (pt 3):
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1ARMbiVEkD/

**Triskit & Ritz, like all of our other cats, are indoor ONLY.
The average life span of an outdoor feral is two years. Outdoor cats are subject to these same elements and risk a distressing death.
Please speak with Kim, the shelter manager and the town's ACO, for more information regarding this.
