Ringo's Story

Update March 13th, 2026 - Ringo is now at the Pet Valu, 1900 King St E in the King.Rosedale Plaza. Go pay this cutie a visit.
Feb 2026 - Please read Ringo's bio, requirements for adoption and if you think he would be a good fit then go to avacats.org and fill out an online application form. An adoption co ordinator will be in touch.
Ringo came in to our rescue beginning of November last year from Hamilton Animal Services. He had been diagnosed with ringworm - which is a fungal infection contagious to other cats. He couldn't stay there so looking for a rescue to take or be euthanized. Luckily our vet clinic said they would put him in isolation for the month needed - he went on the intrafungol meds every day . At the end of the treatment fair was plucked again and sent for a PCR test which showed he was all clear. He had one final bath, received a 2nd flea treatment, 2nd deworming, his FVCRP and rabies vaccines, neutered and microchipped and went to his foster home in December. He was quite shy at first but over the past couple of months has come out of his shell. He loves playing with his wand toys, mice, crinkle balls and springs. He loves to sit at the top of his cat condo watching the world go by. His foster mom says that he has the cutest squeak of a meow. HE will be a little shy moving to a new environment but give him a few days and he will be purring up a storm. His adoption fee is $275. We think that he would do well with proper introduction to another feline friendly cat to show him the ropes and hang with. AVA has an indoor and no declaw policy. It is recommended that he start out in a safe room with his food, litter and toys until he adjusts to his new environment.
