Ricky's Story

If you believe that "bigger is better" when it comes to feline friends, meet Ricky! This handsome, 3.5-year-old orange and white boy is a magnificent "big ginger" looking for a dedicated home where he can truly reign supreme. While he has been low-key during his time at the shelter, his previous caregivers tell us that once he's settled into a home, his playful, active side truly shines. Ricky is a cat who forms deep, exclusive bonds; once you are "his person," he will dedicate all his affection and his impressive purr motor to you. Ricky is the ultimate companion for a true cat enthusiast who appreciates a feline with a strong sense of self and clear communication skills. A smart and vocal boy, Ricky likes to be the star of the show and isn't afraid to let you know his preferences. If he's had enough petting or feels overstimulated, he may offer a quick, honest nip to set a boundary. We expect these behaviors to soften significantly as he feels more secure in a predictable environment, but he will always thrive best with an owner who reads his body language well. To help Ricky feel like the king he is, he requires a calm, adult-only home without the chaos of dogs or children. While he generally prefers to be your one-and-only, he may consider sharing his kingdom with a very calm, quiet cat who respects his personal space--though a slow, royal introduction is a must! If you are an experienced cat owner looking for a handsome, larger-than-life companion to share your life with, Ricky is ready to pick you! His adoption fee is $225.

*To visit our cats, you must make an appointment on-line at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt.*

Note: While we are happy to respond to your questions about any of our cats, you will still be required to make an on-line appointment at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt if you wish to meet our cats. Once you have a confirmed appointment, you can monitor the adoption appointment calendar and move your appointment to an earlier opening should one become available. We are not able to contact you to switch your appointment.

Stay up-to-date with all events and happenings at Caring for Cats!
