Richard

Richard was brought to the shelter by our Humane Agents after he was removed from an apartment when his previous owners were evicted and he was left there with 2 other cats. Richard is about 12 years old and was in pretty rough shape when we got him. This poor guy was completely covered in fleas and matted to the point that we had to bathe him. The water turned brown the second he touched it. He was not impressed with his bath, but we were able to get him cleaned up. Richard also had severe dental disease which required surgery but he is doing much better! He does require a soft food diet and he is very passionate about his food. Richard may be old, but he is super sassy. He likes attention in small sessions and will let you know when he is ready to be alone. We do not recommend Richard go to a home with small children as he can be a little swipey, especially when he is hungry. Richard is also FIV+, so he must be an only cat of live with other FIV+ cats. Richard is definitely not everyone's cup of tea and will obviously need a special and patient family, but he is still deserving of a loving family and a happy life!
