Rhett's Story
**IN FOSTER CARE - NOT AT PETSMART**

Meet Rhett – Your Big Orange Lovebug!

Rhett may have once been labeled the “grumpy cat,” but underneath that tough-guy reputation is one of the sweetest, most loving cats you could ever meet. This handsome orange tabby was trapped on a county property after being dumped and struggling to survive on his own. Once in Catalyst’s care, it became clear that Rhett wasn’t grumpy at all—he was just scared and had clearly endured his fair share of territorial fights while trying to survive outdoors.

After being neutered, vaccinated, and treated for a massive abscess under his chin caused by fighting, Rhett finally got the chance to relax and show his true personality. And wow, did he blossom! Rhett is an absolute attention seeker who loves pets, affection, playtime, and being involved in everything his people are doing.

Rhett does prefer to be the king of his castle and would do best as the only cat in the home. He is FIV positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which means he should remain indoors only and not interact with other cats. However, Rhett absolutely enjoys supervised outdoor time with his foster mom. He loves rolling around in the grass, exploring the yard, and soaking up the fresh air before happily following her back inside after a few minutes of adventure. A safe enclosed catio or supervised outdoor time would be a dream come true for this boy!

Cats with FIV can still live long, happy, and normal lives. They are simply more prone to infections and benefit from routine veterinary care to help keep them healthy. For more information about FIV, visit: https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv

Rhett is also a dedicated scratcher and will need a sturdy scratching post to help keep his claws busy and healthy.

Rhett is healthy, happy, and ready to find his forever person! He has been:
- Neutered
- Dewormed
- Flea treated & on prevention
- FIV/FeLV tested – FIV Positive
- Microchipped
- Up to date on Rabies & FVRCP vaccinations

If you’re looking for a loyal orange companion who will shower you with love and happily follow you around the house (and yard!), Rhett is waiting to meet you!
📧 Reach out to meet this handsome sweetheart today!
All Meet and Greets are pre-approved by rescue vis application only!
