Rhett's Story
Please read through the entire posting and requirements before applying via our questionnaire at https://alleycatproject.org/adopt
Please do not submit an inquiry via Petfinder

Meet Rhett, a gentle soul with a big heart who’s ready to spend his golden years wrapped in love. At 12 years old, Rhett is past the chaos of kittenhood and is looking for something deeper: comfort, connection, and a place to truly belong.

Rhett is a smooth, short‑haired black beauty with the faintest tuxedo splotches on his chest and tummy, like little hints of the elegance he carries so naturally. Friendly and curious at heart, he’s learning that indoor life can be full of wonderful things — warm sunbeams, cozy naps, and people who care.

His favorite moments are snuggling close, stretching out in a sunny spot, and happily batting around his beloved banana catnip toy. Once he feels safe, his sweetness truly shines.

Rhett had an adjustment period when he first came indoors and while interacting with other cats, so he’ll do best with someone who understands that trust takes time — and that the reward is incredibly special.

What Rhett’s looking for in a home:

- He’s new to indoor life with humans, so he needs a kind and patient guide to help him continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers make him nervous.
- He feels at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- He needs to live indoors only.
- He has no known history with other cats.
- He has no known history with dogs.
- He has no known history with children.

All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Thank you for your interest in adopting Rhett!
