Rey's Story

Rey’s story began in a drainpipe at the old Ward Warehouse demolition site, where a kind construction worker rescued her from a life of danger and despair. She came to Lucky Paws in rough shape and was diagnosed with FIP—often considered a fatal illness. But Rey is a survivor.

After 84 days of dedicated treatment and monitoring, Rey beat the odds and is now healthy, strong, and full of life. She was briefly adopted and did wonderfully in a home setting, but her adopter sadly chose not to keep her when facing a move.

Now Rey is looking for what she’s always deserved: stability, love, and a forever home. She’s affectionate, gentle, and a reminder of how resilience and compassion can transform a life.

If you’re ready to give Sweet Baby Rey the loyal home she’s been waiting for, she’ll reward you with endless love.

Apply to adopt Rey today at LuckyPaws.org/adopt.

Lucky Paws Animal Foundation's Adoption Policy
1. Application 2. Phone Call Interview 3. Meet and Greet 4. Finalize! To meet a pet, a potential adopter should fill out the adoption application, receive a interview phone call, and be approved before meeting any cats. We do not use a first-come, first-serve process when adopting out cats, instead we focus on best fit for each individual cat. The process is intended to ensure a best-fit, long-term successful adoption for both the family and pet. We will sometimes require a home check on a case by case basis. In many cases, we recommend a foster-to-adopt scenario to be sure it is a perfect fit.
