Rex's Story
Rex is a truly courageous and handsome 3.5 year old boy seeking a profoundly patient and loving home. He came to us as a stray, having suffered a serious eye injury that required necessary surgery to remove the damaged eye. This trauma, combined with the overwhelming environment of the shelter, has made him incredibly shy, and he is currently looking for a quiet, predictable sanctuary where his true, sweet personality can finally blossom. We know this gentle boy wants to be affectionate--with a slow, gentle approach, he does allow some soft pets--but he needs a patient, experienced cat owner to guide him through building trust and confidence. Rex is also FIV positive, which means he carries the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. This condition is primarily transmitted through deep bite wounds, and with stable living conditions and proper care, he can live a normal, healthy lifespan. He can peacefully and safely live with other FIV negative cats in a home environment. Because of his shy nature and need for calm, Rex requires a home without young children or dogs, but he does get along well with other felines. If you have a quiet, adult-only home and the heart to earn the deep, rewarding trust of a truly special survivor, please consider giving Rex the tranquil haven he deserves. Rex's adoption fee is $225.

*To visit our cats, you must make an appointment on-line at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt.*

Note: While we are happy to respond to your questions about any of our cats, you will still be required to make an on-line appointment at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt if you wish to meet our cats.
