Reuben 25-026's Story

Reuben is a striking 2-year-old tabby with a past as a stray and a personality full of heart. During his time with CARE, it became clear that this boy loves human connection. He happily nuzzles into the people he trusts and enjoys sharing quiet moments with his fosters and volunteers.

But Reuben also knows exactly what he wants. When he's finished with affection and ready for some personal space, he communicates that very clearly-with his claws or teeth if needed. Because of this strong preference for independence, Reuben will do best in a home without small children or other pets, and with someone who understands cat body language and respects boundaries.

CARE typically adopts cats as indoor-only companions; however, Reuben is a special exception. His background as an outdoor cat and his desire for freedom make him a great candidate for an indoor/outdoor lifestyle or even a warehouse/home-base setup where he can patrol for rodents while still having access to a warm, safe shelter, regular meals, and consistent veterinary care.

Reuben is litter-box trained and very capable of being a wonderful companion for the right person or environment-someone who appreciates both his affectionate moments and his independent spirit.
If you're looking for a cat with personality, confidence, and charm, Reuben just might be your match.

Reuben is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Reuben's adoption fee is $50.00.

If you are interested in meeting Reuben or learning more about our adoption process, please submit an adoption application.
