Renn's Story

This little lady is Renn. She initially came to one of our fosters, on June 5th from Newport News AC as a medical foster. She had given birth to 2 littles and was living under someone's house.

The mom and babies were removed from the property and it was observed that the momma kitty had an abcess and mastitis. The emergency vet got her cleaned up and on antibiotics and pain meds for her ruptured abcess of her mammary gland.

Her babies were only a few days old and she was not able to feed them. Another rescue agreed to take the babies and bottle feed them. Momma was left behind, and more than likely would have been euthanized, as she didnt really trust people. So, I agreed to take her and get her healthy and fixed up. And to keep her out of the shelter.

She was transferred to New Kent Humane Society as my foster, once her stray hold was lifted in Newport News. And since then, she has been spayed, vaccinated (rabies and distemper), and her combo test (feline leukemia/ fiv) was negative. She has flea meds applied and is microchipped. She is estimated to be about 1 year old.

Here's what she is looking for - an indoor home that is quiet. She does not mind other cats. But lots of noise and commotion worries her. So young children would probably overwhelm her. She's a shy little girl. Shes not mean. Has never tried to bite or scratch. She is perfectly happy to keep an eye on everything from her bed.

I know there is a perfect home out there for her, one that will love her quirks as much as we do. If you wish to adopt, please fill out an adoption application on our website. newkenthumane.org Thank you!
