Ren's Story

Meet Ren – The Water-Loving, Happy Drooler!

What’s orange, has a tiny motor, drools when happy, and loves playing with water? That’s our girl, Ren! This almost 4-year-old beauty came to Scruffy Paws as a feral rescue, and while she’s made amazing progress, she’s still searching for that special human who will shower her with patience, love, and plenty of cheek scratches.

Ren has been waiting for her forever home for 887+ days—she’s more than ready for a family to call her own! Since arriving at Scruffy, she has truly embraced the company of her feline friends—she’s a cat’s cat through and through. While she prefers kitty companionship over human attention, she’s learning that people aren’t so bad (especially when they come with treats and chin rubs!). A confident, people-friendly cat in the home is a must to help Ren feel safe and continue blossoming.

What Makes Ren One of a Kind?
-A happy drooler—when she purrs, expect some adorable love dribbles!
-Obsessed with water! Whether it's watching it, playing in it, or just being near it—she’s fascinated!
-Loves cozy hidey-holes, scratching posts, and perching up high to survey her kingdom.
-Enjoys cheek and chin scratches but can get overstimulated, so a quiet, adults-only home is best.
-Can be a little hissy at first with new cats, but she warms up with time and loves to cuddle her kitty friends.
-Can be held… but only on her terms (a true independent queen!).
-Has the most adorable head tilt when you talk to her—like she’s really listening to every word!

After 887 days at the shelter, Ren deserves a loving home where she can feel safe, loved, and finally settle in. If you’ve got a quiet home and a heart big enough for this quirky, lovable girl, Ren just might be the perfect match for you!

Please be sure to read a cat's full bio before applying! We do our best to keep bios updated as we learn more about each cat or as circumstances change. The bio is the best place to find the most current and important information about their needs, personality, and ideal home.

Thank you for your interest in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If this post is still up, we are still accepting applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). There's no need to email us about availability, just submit an application if you're interested! Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue requires an application, vet reference and virtual home tour for adoption approval. We love our rescues and want them to find the best possible match and furever homes! Why Was a Cat’s Bio Removed? From time to time, you may notice that a cat’s bio has been removed from our website. There are several possible reasons for this, and we want to provide some clarity. Most often, a bio is removed because the cat has been adopted — which is always wonderful news! In other cases, a bio may be temporarily taken down because the cat is receiving medical care or treatment, and we want to focus on their recovery before accepting new applications. Sometimes, we remove a bio because we’ve received an overwhelming number of applications and need time to carefully review them. We work hard to thoughtfully match each cat with the best possible home, and that process takes time. Lastly, a bio may be removed if the cat has an upcoming meet-and-greet, and we are waiting to see how that visit goes before moving forward. If a cat’s bio is no longer posted, it simply means they are not currently available for new applications. We always update our website as soon as a cat becomes available again. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting our rescue efforts! 🐾
