Ray-Ray's Story

My name's Ray-Ray.

I'm looking for a home in the Richmond, Virginia metro area. My adoption fee is $125.

My owner passed away, and I was placed outside and had to forage for food. Things didn't go well for me because I'd never been outside.... Luckily, I was picked up and taken the pound; I was very thin and not in the best of health. Hanover Humane's volunteer saw me during a visit to the pound, and, saddened by my story, she placed me in Hanover Humane's Adoptions Program.

I'm between 3 and 5 years old. Suffice it to say, I wasn't very happy when I was pulled from the pound; I was angry because the only home I'd ever known was gone.....Once I was neutered and moved to a foster home, my attitude started to shift, and I'm much happier. I've put on some weight, and my coat is absolutely gorgeous. I'm doing well with the other animals in my foster home, and my foster mom says that I'm the model kitty. She says I know my place in the pecking order, and she says I'm very respectful of the other animals. Honestly, I'm just happy to be inside and be fed regularly!

I'm looking for a home where I can reside with another calm kitty; I could just as easily be an only cat, though. I probably would do well in a home with a calm dog that's cat-friendly.

I'm fully vaccinated, neutered, and was recently tested for feline leukemia/aids (neg/neg). If you're interested in adopting me, please email to info@hanoverhumanesociety.org, and an adoptions volunteer will be in touch with you.
