Raven's Story

Do not even think about adopting Raven if you’re looking for an “instant lap cat.” This sleek, midnight beauty has standards. She prefers her head and shoulders over belly rubs, thank you very much, and will absolutely tell you when you’ve crossed the line (politely, with a hiss — never claws or teeth).

She’s not about the pick-me-up life, but she is about rewarding patience. Give her a cozy corner, a sprinkle of treats, and some quiet company, and watch her transform from cautious to curious. With a little time (think: weeks, not hours), she’ll decide you’re worth her trust — and when she does, you’ll feel like you’ve won the feline lottery.

Raven isn’t for everyone. But for the right person? She’s everything. Apply to meet your moody, magical match at https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoption-process

Familiar Hearts Animal Society's Adoption Policy
We always have potential adopters fill out our adoption application first so we can first vet them and make sure we approve of them as adopters before then inviting them to meet the animal(s) they are interested in. We feel this not only saves time for our fosters, it helps us get to know the applicant better and better be able to match them with the potential pet that is best for them. We always make sure everyone has a lot of time to deeply consider the adoption before finalizing it. The adoption is considered finalized after the adoption contract is reviewed and signed and the fee is paid. We then tranfer all the vet records and microchip information to the new family. We also offer behavioral support before and after adoption and one free training session with our dog trainer for dog adopters.
