Raquel - ADOPTION PENDING!'s Story
Meet Raquel, a gentle, lovely fluffy black and white girl who had been trying to survive outside since she was a kitten. She showed up last summer at a stranger's home begging for food. The kind homeowner fed her until winter. She tried to get Raquel in a carrier but was unable. Then once it became bitterly cold, Raquel came to the door and actually allowed herself inside. Smart girl! Thankfully, she knew when the outdoor life was too much and found a person willing to help her. She is now ready for adoption to live a happy, secure indoor life.

Raquel is a bit timid at the moment. She has been through a few moves to get to Second Chance so is taking a minute to acclimate. Raquel was in foster for a few weeks where it was discovered she was a lap cat, enjoying pets. Raquel will need an adopter willing to spend some time brushing her lovely coat. Raquel had a number of mats removed so is missing a little fur but that will grow back in no time. Raquel will also need an adopter who is patient and reassuring, giving Raquel pets and attention but allowing her to gain confidence on her own time.

Raquel would do best in a quieter, routine home with a single person or couple, maybe a family with older respectful kids. Raquel gets along with other cats so could live in a multi-cat household of gently, friendly felines.

Raquel has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Raquel has an approximate birthdate of 03/01/2025. Her adoption fee is $120.

If you are interested in Raquel or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
