Raptor's Story

Allow us to introduce you to Raptor! Raptor was the only girl in her litter of 4, and when you look at that stunning face you just know she's the princess of the group. She looks like how we imagine Walt Disney would draw a cat, with her big eyes and long whiskers. She is also the smallest of her crew, and will likely grow up to be a pretty petite cat, but she does not let that stand in her way when it comes to playtime! She loves chasing string toys, feathers, toy mice, balls... she'd probably play with a piece of trash if she found some. But it's not all just fun and games - snuggle time is very important to her. She loves laying in the cat tree, especially when the sun is shining on it, and pets, scratches, and belly rubs are very important to her daily routine!

Raptor spent the first 5-6 weeks of her life living under a shed with her mama and siblings, but she settled into indoor-only life very quickly and instinctively knew how to use the litter box on day 1. Now that she's an inside kitty, she can't imagine having to live in the cold and dirty outside. She is still a little nervous around new people, but now that she trusts her foster mom she is incredibly loving and wants all the attention she can get! She's very affectionate, follows you around for pets, and will give you the biggest purrs, especially for her daily morning ritual of snuggle time on the sofa.

Raptor loves other cats, doesn't mind the resident dog, and would do best in a home with another kitty to be her friend. If you've fallen in love with her sweet face but don't have any other cats at home, consider checking out her brother Indo! Young kittens do best when they have other young cats around to play with and learn important socialization skills (search online for "single kitten syndrome"). She is spayed, combo tested for FIV/FeLV (negative), microchipped, and finished with her kitten vaccines.

If interested in adopting Raptor, please submit an online adoption application and an adoption coordinator will contact you.

CARE-Cat Adoption and Rescue Efforts Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is simple but thorough. You select a feline who touches your heart and fill out an adoption application at care-cats.org/application. Filling out the application is the quickest way to start the adoption process and is required of all adoptions. After review and approval by our volunteers, you will be contacted by an adoption consultant to discuss the adoption process. Please allow a few days for this process, as CARE is an all volunteer rescue – each of us is giving our own personal time and we appreciate your patience. You will then be in contact with the foster to discus and meet your chosen cat/kitten. Should you decide to adopt, an adoption contract is then signed with an adoption donation attached (this donation helps defray the medical costs incurred) Each cat/kitten has spent its rescued time in a private home in foster care being loved and assessed for temperament and personality, needs, likes and dislikes. Our adoption counselors and fosters will help you to adopt a feline that will fit well and become a permanent member of your family. See : Available Cats: on our website: care-cats.org for more information. Adoption fees (fees contribute to only a portion of the cost of each cat’s medical and living expenses) Please check with an adoption specialist for adoption fees. Occasionally we offer specials on adoption fees. As Part of the Adoption Fee Your NEW Family Member Has Received: * A Full Health Check up by a Veterinarian * Treated, if needed, for any Problems with Ear/Eyes/Teeth * Treated for Worms, Fleas and Ticks * Tested for FIV and FELV * Treated for any Medical or Surgical Problems as Needed * Given a Series of FRVCP Immunizations (additional booster shots may be required for kittens) * A Rabies Vaccination if over 4 months of age. * A Spay or Neuter (if a kitten is too young, a free spay/neuter clinic appointment is offered to the adopter). * All cats are Microchipped Our goal is to place all rescued felines in a permanent, appropriate, safe and loving home. Please note that CARE reserves the right to deny applications without a stated reason.
