Raney's Story

Rain or Shine

A 1 year old orphan kitty with an independent spirit, a soft heart, and so much growth ahead.. she’s shown quiet resilience and a remarkable ability to adapt. Given her friendly loving nature we suspect she was abandoned by her people, but no

one ever stepped up to claim her. She did have callouses on her paw pads, so she had likely been outdoors for some time.

Raney is beautifully colored with grey & hidden lightly toned browns that cause your imagination to visualize the paint strokes of a great artist painting a rainy landscape.

After being rescued off the streets, her time in the rescue has put her through a lot: intake, new litter mates, alteration surgery, carriers, kennels, strangers, & she has magnificently mastered it all!

She has quickly taken to the indoor life- stretching out on the back of a couch, exploring the heights of a bookshelf, counting the levels of a kitty tower, even curling up into a soft dog bed. And when she feels especially safe, she’ll choose a warm lap.

Surviving in the streets is a serious business, so Raney is just now discovering what play is. Toys are a new idea, and every little pounce or curious swat feels like a small victory.

Raney thrives when she has a nurturing “den mom” and does especially well with animals that are slightly older & more confident than she is.

Raney has not yet been introduced to babies or children of any age The fact that she shows understanding and acceptance toward loud noises, crowds, and sudden movements really does speak volumes about her confidence and stability. Of course, any first introduction to children should be gradual and supervised — but her temperament is a great indicator that she has the potential to do very well.

Rain or shine, she’s ready for a home that will let her learn, grow, and enjoy all the things she’s only just beginning to experience.

Raney is spayed, fully vaccinated, negative for felv fiv, dewormed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $180
