Rachel Sandwich's Story

Meet Rachel Sandwich! She's a lovey dovey girl who challenges the sassy tortie stereotype. She loves being petted and cuddled and will try to climb all over you if she thinks she's not getting enough attention. Rachel also performs complimentary nose inspections where she seemingly attempts to put her nose inside your nostril. What her fascination with noses is all about we're not quite sure -- maybe she's just being nosey (sorry, couldn't resist!), or maybe she just likes being THAT close. When she's not trying to snuggle a human, Rachel can be found playing with her littermates or sleeping on the highest perch she can find.

Rachel was found abandoned with her presumed littermates and fellow sandwiches, Reuben and Knuckle, as well as a seemingly unrelated adult cat. She had an upper respiratory infection and her left eye was partially affected. Her eye was infected and the vet suspected that she had a deep ulcer on her cornea. Fortunately with treatment her eye was able to be saved, though it does have some scarring that affects her vision in that eye. She is currently at the tail end of a treatment course, but that will be completed before she goes to her new home. As of January 2nd she weighs 4#.

Send us a message or fill out an adoption application if you have any questions or if you're interested in meeting Rachel Sandwich. We do have an optional adoption application to help get the conversation started, or potential adopters can also send us a message or email. After chatting with the foster home, the next step is a meet and greet so everyone can get acquainted. If the adoption is a go we'll get the paperwork signed to make it official and send the pet home with their medical records. Same day adoptions are possible but not required.

Adoption Fee: We believe in lowering the barriers to adoption; because of this, we do not require a minimum adoption fee. We do, however, rely on financial contributions. Any funds received is at the discretion of the adopter and goes toward the care of animals in our rescue

Seymour Mutts Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process relies on conversations between the adopter and rescue/foster home to determine matches. We believe that there are no perfect animals and no perfect homes, just perfect fits. We use the adoption application as a way to start conversations; filling out an application is not required before meeting an animal. Feel free to send us an email, message, or fill out an application. Adoption Fees: We believe in lowering the barriers to adoption; because of this, we do not require a minimum adoption fee. We do, however, rely on financial contributions. Any funds received is at the discretion of the adopter and goes toward the care of animals in our rescue.
