Purrdle's Story

Please read through the entire posting and requirements before applying via our questionnaire at https://alleycatproject.org/adopt
Please do not submit an inquiry via Petfinder.

Do you need a good reason to avoid your social engagements? If so, Purrdle is the cat for you! All you need to say is, “I can’t right now, I have a cat on my lap.” Everyone will understand. It might even get you out of work engagements! She is 2 years old.

Purrdle is a dilute grey tabby with incredibly huge green eyes, and markings like she has perfectly-applied eyeliner, 24/7 (don’t be jealous). She loves sitting in your lap. She loves sleeping in your lap. She loves purring in your lap. She loves kneading “biscuits” with her paws in your lap. She makes a great TV-watching companion, on your lap. She loves staring lovingly up at you with her big, green eyes, while sitting in your lap.

Overall, she is a sweet, gentle, mellow cat who enjoys the company of people. She does fine alone all day if you simply must take your lap elsewhere, but she would probably be happy if your lap never left too.

She loves wet food and enjoys dry food. She is a social cat, and prefers to eat when people are around.

She enjoys being hugged and carried, but will let you know if you don’t pick her up just right. She will let you know by hissing, and if you don’t listen to her, she might lash out with her paws. For that reason, we recommend supervision if she is around children or others who aren’t familiar with cats.

She does not get along with our resident cat at home. We aren’t sure if she needs to be the only cat in the household, or if it’s just a personality clash. If you have another cat at home, we recommend a slow introduction.

Oh, and did we mention she likes sitting in your lap?

What Purrdle’s looking for in a home:

- She can get nervous, so she needs a kind and patient guide to help her feel comfortable with new experiences.
- She feels at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- She needs to live indoors only.
- She has no known history with dogs.
- She has no known history with children.

All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Thank you for your interest in adopting Purrdle! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt her by filling out this questionnaire: https://alleycatproject.org/adopt

Only applicants who complete the questionnaire will be considered. Please do not submit an inquiry through Petfinder, as it will not replace the questionnaire and we will not respond. Many of our cats receive numerous applications, and we thank you for your patience while we review applications and find the best match.

Please do not follow up on your application by phone or email as this will not expedite a response. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, we appreciate your understanding.
