Purr Machines Popeye and Madison's Story
This brother/sister pair have a really special place in my heart! They're true rescue kittens. They were rescued when they were around 4 months old which is later than ideal to socialize them so they are timid of people. I've worked with them a lot and they've both made amazing strides. :') Popeye came around quickly and is friendly and cuddly once he feels safe with a person. He will likely remain timid of strangers until he gets to know them. Popeye is a vocal boy and likes to crawl into my lap for pets. He loves a belly rub! Madison remains skittish but she is friendly and will continue to come around to people. She will also likely remain timid of strangers and take much longer to adjust to new people. She is a kitty who freezes when spooked rather than becoming aggressive. Madison absolutely loves treats, ear scratches and back rubs. She is also a big purrer and quickly starts to purr when pet. So she's doing really well. Adopters will need to work with her daily to continue the socialization and desensitization process to people.

Popeye and Madison are 4.5-5 months old now. They are both fixed, vaccinated 1st round FVRCP and rabies, dewormed, treated for fleas and microchipped. They will need to see a veterinarian for the 2nd round FVRCP in October. They both have unique physical quirks. Popeye has a crooked tail and Madison has extra toes(polydactyl). Popeye won't need any special care for his tail but Madison will need her extra toenails trimmed to avoid injury and/or pain. Both kittens use the litter box with no issue. They are not picky eaters and like all foods. Madison especially likes lickable treats which are a good way to socialize and bond to her. They are good with other cats of all ages. I don't think they'd appreciate a dog sibling.

Popeye and Madison need adopters who understand that they are rescues and will need time, love and patience as they adapt and bond.

I will always be available to adoptive parents to answer questions or assist with concerns. And if for some reason the adoption would not work out, we require that Popeye and Madison are returned to us and we will accept them back with open arms.

We require all potential adopters to meet with us in our home to interact with Popeye and Madison and ask us questions.
