Pumpkin & Stu (Bonded Pair)'s Story
Pumpkin & Stu: (FELV exposed)

Backstory:
Pumpkin (The large fluffy one) and Stu (Small tabby) are a bonded pair. Stu came with his brother (Petyr) who initially tested negative for FIV and later tested positive while the others tested negative at their spay/neuters. After testing it was discovered Petyr is FELV positive which is transmissible through close contact. The vet had stated Pumpkin and Stu had already been exposed so for their own socialization we could keep them together and assume them as FELV positive, however they do not have a formal diagnosis and will be re-tested at time of adoption.

Personalities:

Stu: Stu is a sweet but shy boy who takes time to warm up to new people, he will hide for the first 10-15 days of having him. Once he trusts you he blossoms into the sweetest boy you can imagine. He will come up and tap you on the shoulder when he wants attention and he loves his work toy more than life itself. He is strangely bonded to the aloof Pumpkin and they can often be observed holding paws and grooming each other. Stu is a little gentleman and when playing often defers to the other cats first when they want a turn with a toy. He has recently been letting his foster mom pick him up and allows her to make him do a little dance with no issues. His foster mom can only provide an hour or two socialization a day, so we are certain he will blossom with more regular contact.

Pumpkin:
Pumpkin is a hot mess. She tricked her foster mom into believing she would turn into a lap cat, but its been almost a year in foster care and everything bit of contact has to be on Pumpkins terms, she is a nervous Nellie who you probably wont see for the first month of adopting. Once she trusts you (re: been given enough treats and playtime and used Stu as a sacrificial lamb to see if you are safe) she will, on occasion sit on your legs or allow a behind the ear scratch. She is oddly goofy, likes to lay on her back in the middle of the floor in all her fluffy glory and her favorite pastime is sitting by an open window people watching (and judging). She absolutely is terrified of the worm toy but LOVES the laser pointer. Watching her massive body run is hilarious. She loves Stu and tends to follow his lead. Sometimes she sits and watches her foster mom, will walk up, sniff, look disgusted by her existence and then walk away. Her foster mom says she likes to neg people when she wants attention, which is honestly very toxic of her. She is a wonderfully independent cat, she enjoys your presence but doesnt need your attention. The best owner for Pumpkin is someone who can admire her from a distance and who is happy to have quiet companionship. Most people want a cuddly cat which is why she has stayed in foster care for so long, but her foster mom reports Pumpkin is her favorite as she is so low maintenance and hilarious to watch. She needs a special individual who can respect her boundaries and recognizes there is beauty in an aloof cat. She is bonded to Stu.
