Pumpkin (FeLV+)'s Story
For those of you with a weakness for teddy bears with chubby cheeks, Pumpkin is your boy! This gentle giant may be large and intimidating, but he is a lover at heart. Although he grew up on the streets, he thoroughly loves being a house cat and enjoys all the pampering and cuddles that come with it. He adores other cats and we were told he was the protector of his colony. He does tend to take a moment to get to know his new environment, but once he does, he will reward you with head butts and tiny little chirps (like most boys, food will help win him over). He does prefer a quiet home, so would not be good with young children or active dogs. Like many cats, he does not enjoy being picked up or restrained, but if you allow him to come to you, the pets and snuggles can last furever! He has purrfect litter manners and is a wonderful house guest.

Pumpkin is FeLV positive, but he is currently a healthy boy and there is no reason to think he will not remain so. FeLV cats can live wonderful, full, lovefilled lives, and Pumpkin is proof. He just needs the right home with someone who understands that FeLV isn't scary, just something to be aware of. FeLV affects the immune system, so FeLVpositive cats need to be indooronly and live with other FeLVpositive cats or be solo. With that simple accommodation, many live wonderful, full lives. If you have any questions about Pumpkin or FeLV, please reach out and ask!

All cats adopted through To The ResQ have been examined by a vet, are spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped with free transfer registration, combo-tested, and dewormed.

If you have any questions about Pumpkin, please contact us at ttr.adopt@gmail.com.
