Pumpkin's Story

Pumpkin is a little over one year old, and he has one very important thing to tell you: wherever he goes, his brother Ozzie goes too! These two sweet boys are bonded and must be adopted together.

Pumpkin is a handsome short-haired orange-and-white neutered male. He is a little more timid than his brother Ozzie and tends to let Ozzie be the brave one. When something new happens, Pumpkin likes to hang back and watch his brudder investigate first. Once Ozzie decides everything is okay, Pumpkin is much more willing to join the fun.

These boys lost the only home they knew when their owner lost her housing. They came to Catmandu hoping to find a new family, but the busy sanctuary environment has been a little overwhelming for Pumpkin. There are lots of unfamiliar people coming and going and, from Pumpkin's perspective, an alarming number of strange cats wandering around!

He's understandably a bit nervous here and spends most of his time hiding. However, underneath that uncertainty is a very sweet, playful little soul. Once Pumpkin feels safe and comfortable, he enjoys attention, playtime, and being around his people. We think he'll blossom beautifully once he is back in a home where he can relax and settle into a routine.

Pumpkin is perfectly fine with other friendly cats, although Ozzie is his one absolute requirement! These brothers have each other for comfort and confidence, and we aren't going to separate them.

We have no information about Pumpkin having lived with dogs, so any dog introduction would need to be handled carefully.

Because Pumpkin is a little timid, he would do best in a quieter home without small children. School-age children and older should be fine as long as they understand that Pumpkin may need a little time to warm up. He doesn't need someone to "fix" him. He just needs someone to give him the time, love and security he needs to feel safe again.

Give Pumpkin and Ozzie a home of their own, and you'll get twice the love, twice the entertainment, and two very happy brothers who can finally relax and be themselves again.

If you would like to meet this special furball, please fill out the Online Pre-Adoption Questionnaire on our website, https://www.catmanducc.org/copy-of-adoption. Then come by Catmandu Friday through Sunday for a meet and greet and to talk with an adoption specialist. Adoption hours are 11 am to 4 pm. Plan to arrive no later than 3 pm so you have time to spend with the cats before adoptions close at 4. Please bring a carrier in case you find your purrfect friend.
Renters must bring a copy of their lease showing they are allowed to have a cat.
For more information on Catmandu, see bio.link/momcat.

Catmandu's Adoption Policy
Catmandu is located in Carson City, NV. We do not ship cats cross-country. You must be able to visit In person prior to adoption. We ask that all family members come to meet the cat, especially if there are children. Spay/neuter, shots to date, and deworming (if necessary) are included in our adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $100 for kittens under 1 year old; and $50 for adult cats. We strongly prefer to have adopters complete an application and make an appointment to meet the cats. Because we have an extremely small staff, this ensures that we will be able to give each potential adopter plenty of individual time and attention to help them select the perfect cat for their family and situation. It is very important to us that it is a good fit and the adoption is for the lifetime of the cat. Appointments are available Tuesday through Sunday.
