Pumpkin's Story

This sweet little Pumpkin was part of a massive rescue mission to evacuate 285 dogs and cats from Afghanistan when the Taliban took over. Most of the animals had families who were desperate to be reunited, but Pumpkin was part of a special group of cats who did not have anyone waiting.

She has survived more than we can imagine, and we are absolutely dazzled by her resilience.

Fall in love on our rescue livestream: TinyKittens.com/live

Pumpkin is FIV+, which means her immune system isn't as robust as other cats. She arrived with an old injury to her eye that had been causing constant pain, as well as all but one of her teeth missing. She is also missing her tail. We don't know if it is congenital or the result of some kind of trauma. We also suspect she may have some arthritis and may need mobility considerations in the future (like steps to the bed).

Happily, she is incredibly strong, and is recovering extremely well from surgery to remove her damaged eye, and dental surgery to remove her remaining broken canine some broken roots.

Pumpkin was born feral, and lived most of her life feral. She is very happy living in a home, with her comfy bed by the window. She is still learning to trust humans, which is totally understandable given everything she has survived.

Her ideal human will love for for everything she has survived, her remarkable resilience, her playful spirit and her gentle soul. She deserves to be loved on her terms, given patience and comfort, and to receive the best medical care as she approaches her senior years.

We are happy to discuss her medical situation, the latest research about FIV, and her emotional needs further with qualified applicants!
