Puddy's Story
Puddy (DOB May 2020) came to Safe Haven in November 2024 after life in his previous home changed with the arrival of a new baby. The transition proved stressful for him, especially while sharing space with another cat, and he is now looking for a calmer environment where he can truly feel at ease.

A true gentle giant, this handsome boy is one of the volunteers’ favorite cats in the adoption room - and it’s easy to see why. Puddy adores being petted, leans into affection, and radiates calm, “good boy” energy wherever he goes. His presence is soothing and comforting, making him an ideal companion for someone who appreciates a peaceful, loving feline friend.

Puddy finds joy in life’s simple pleasures: lounging on his favorite cat structure, relaxing on a soft cushioned cat tree, or soaking up the warm sunshine by the window. His laid-back demeanor makes him a wonderful match for a quiet home looking for a calm and steady pet.

Puddy gets along well with all of his roommates, though he hasn’t formed a special bond with any particular cat yet. During group playtime, he prefers to observe from above rather than rush in - but don’t be fooled by his calm exterior. When you approach him one-on-one with toys (especially playful, interactive ones), he lights up! He becomes excited, animated, and goes all out with enthusiasm.

Treat time is another favorite - Puddy loves lickable treats and is often the first in line when they’re offered.

If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate cat with a gentle soul and moments of playful charm, this loving boy may be the perfect feline companion. Embrace the joy of having this wonderful cat by your side, and let him bring comfort into your home!

Puddy would be happy to move into a house with other cats that are calm and looking for a gentle friend. He would also do well as an independent cat. Puddy is best suited to a home with adults/older kids who can give him daily interactive play and the love that he deserves. We are confident that Puddy will one day be a beloved member of his forever home family!

Note: Puddy eats Hills c/d wet and dry food as a preventative measure to guard against crystals forming.

To meet Puddy and visit the shelter located at the Thrift Shop/Cattail Farm,
1784 Post Road, Wells, ME (Route 1), please click on the link below to fill out
an adoption application.
