PRIVATE's Story

Private initially thought to be male kitty turned out to be pregnant and gave birth to beautiful kittens. She was a wonderful mom—always keeping her babies clean, calm, and well-fed. As they grew, her playful side came out again. The cat who once wrestled with plants now had real playmates.
Private is a pretty little girl with striking green eyes and a sleek, glossy coat. She is also sweet and smart. She’s still getting the hang of being a pampered pet. She claims the most comfortable spot on the sofa - she naps on tables or under the bed. And she is not yet a lap cat, but she likes to stay close to her people, enjoys being brushed, and enjoys playtime. She’s gentle and patient when handled. Often quiet, when she does speak she chirps more than she meows—and when she does meow, it’s a cute, raspy sound.
When Private is ready for her next chapter she would do well in a home where she has attention and companionship. Ideally if she and Salem could stay together - Salem is a little carbon copy but with brown eyes - to comfort each other in their new home, or to a home with a friendly pet or children to play with.

Rhode Island Feline Rescue's Adoption Policy
We have a very detailed Adoption Application as well as an adoption coordinator system. Once an application is received, it will be reviewed by the adoption coordinator, vet records confirmed, residence status, renting/landlord information, pet permission, and employment verified then the coordinator conducts an interview with the potential adopter. If deemed a good match, the adoption coordinator forwards the information about the potential adopter to the foster. If the foster also agrees then they will have a meet and greet. At the completion of the meeting, if both parties agree the cat/kittens is a good fit an adoption contract is signed, and the adoption fee paid. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis. All the cats and kittens in our care receive the following: checkup, spay/neuter, rabies & distemper vaccines, de-worming medicine, flea preventative, microchip, and Felv/FIV test.
