Princess Cleo's Story
Our gorgeous Princess Cleo found herself homeless and luckily found her way into rescue in November. This lady has come a long way from her malnourished presentation to today thanks to the love and care of her foster momma. She is in a foster home with other cats. It is anticipated she would likely be okay with proper transition time and calm dog(s).

Here are some points her foster mom wrote about Princess Cleo and she would love to tell you more if you apply to meet her!
• Loves drinking from bathtub faucet
• When feeding she insists on plate/bowl to be placed in front of her to know it’s hers to eat
• Loves treats
• Loves pets - even belly - and ear and chin scratches
• Not a fan of brushing, but it is a must
• Loves to lay next to door so be careful she doesn’t escape
• She also has the gifted ability to jump
• Extremely sweet and cuddly

Princess Cleo is estimated to be initally around 7 years young, but after her spay the doctor indicated it is hard to say for sure but likely a bit older than we initially thought. Likely closer to 8-10 years young. Cleo was started on 2 eye medications in November and is now on one eye medication which she cooperates well for and likely will need it long term. Her eye looked much better on exam in January but it is believed he has one eye impacted by eosinophillic plaque and is on prednisolone acetate twice a day and tapering to lowest effective dose. An adoptor will want to discuss this with their vet and budget for the medication which is more cost effective than many other meds. A dental was also performed in January where a cleaning and cracked tooth was extracted. It is recommended for another oral exam with a veterinarian in 6-12 months.

Cleo would prefer a calm retirement home with someone maybe even willing to put in a catio for her or spend time with her walking with a leash and harness so she does not escape.

Adoption fee is $75.00 which includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccines/cares, and microchip.

If you would like to meet, please complete an online application that can be found at: https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/198/hope-cat--application
