Prince (bonded with Sterling)'s Story
Prince
DOB 3/16/2025
Adoption Fee: $450

Prince’s story begins in an unexpected place — a levy behind a busy shopping center, where he and his siblings were doing their best to survive after being left behind with their mom, Anastasia. A LapCats foster saw a Facebook post asking for help with a friendly cat in the area and quickly realized this wasn’t just one cat — it was a family in need.

After speaking with several people nearby, it was discovered that the cats had been abandoned by a homeless person who could no longer care for them. While many kind folks had been feeding them, no one had stepped in to rescue them — until now.

Anastasia was quickly and safely secured, and then came the mission of catching her kittens. Prince was one of the lucky ones — trapped with the help of some tasty snacks and patience. Signs were left asking locals not to feed so the rest could be trapped, and in response, someone left a box filled with two toy kittens and a sign reading, “We trapped the kittens for you.” A little humor goes a long way during tough rescue efforts!

Sadly, not all of Princes siblings were found, despite days and weeks of searching. But now, Prince and the others are safe and loved — and learning what it means to be a kitten on the inside.

Prince is gaining confidence every day. He’s still on the cautious side, but every moment brings more tail wiggles, curious glances, and happy purrs. He’s fascinated by toys, intrigued by people, and slowly but surely embracing the good life. He enjoys some serious tumble play with his brother Sterling, there is never a dull moment with these two.

Prince & Sterling would do best in a calm home with patient humans who will give them time to adjust and continue to blossom. Their sweet, soulful, and have a quiet bravery that makes them so special.

The first step in our adoption process is the application which can be found on our website lapcats.org.

All of our cats have tested negative for FELV and are fully vaccinated. They have not only been spayed or neutered but have also been treated for worms, fleas, and have been micro chipped.

We will register their microchip for you, provide you with a free exam visit to a participating Sacramento veterinarian, and a goodie bag! We do not do out of state adoptions for the safety of our cats.
