Presley's Story

Presley was found by a staff member after being hit by a car and suffering a broken hip and fractured jaw. He has since made a good recovery and does not seem to have any lasting effects from his injuries. Presley did test positive for FIV - an immune deficiency in cats. He does not have to take any special medications and there is no treatment for this. His forever home will simply take note of his condition and let us know if he is sick so that we can treat him quickly, simplifying things for his own immune system. It should be noted that FIV can be transmitted to other cats, but not to humans. Transmission is usually seen amongst cats that fight (bites, punctures, etc.). Since Presley is a pretty quiet and reserved cat, this should be a non-issue. He is a rather shy cat and can take awhile for him to warm up so would probably benefit best from a calm and quiet household. He shares an open cat room with other cats and seems to do fine, although he does tend to hangout on his own. We are unsure how he does around dogs or children.

All of our animals are cared for and examined by our veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed.
