Pow's Story
IMPORTANT - HOW TO APPLY: If you're interested in meeting Pow, you need to first submit an application on our website: winonahumane.org/adopt. Our Feline Director will then contact you to set up a time to visit (our building is operating with scheduled visits). Please email with any questions about Pow or his adoption process!

Personality notes:
- Pow came in with a large group of cats and they’ve all had a lengthy journey to get healthy, socialized, and transitioned into the adoptable cats space. While Pow has been medically cleared for a while now, he’s still one of the more reserved members of his cat group and needs an extra special someone to be his patient hero.
- When Pow was being treated in another area of the shelter, away from the commotion, he came out of his shell over time and enjoyed seeking out attention from his caregivers. He can be quite the character!
- Now that Pow is living in the front office area with lots of new people, sights, and smells, he’s trying his best to acclimate and build trust/confidence again
- Once approached, Pow will lean into chin scratches and show his appreciation for your gentleness
- Although he likes treats, he’ll act like he doesn’t in front of you (until you turn around, then he’ll thoroughly enjoy them!)
- Pow and his friend Boing are on similar socialization levels around people, but LOVE hanging out with each other. You won’t often find one without the other.
- We’ve seen cats like Pow blossom in forever homes that understand their shyness and time needed to build confidence. Pow deserves a family like that that’ll come into his life and show him all the good things a family has to offer. Please consider Pow by submitting an application on winonahumane.org/adopt.

Additional info: male, Domestic Short Hair, brown tabby with white, approximately 2 years old, FIV/FeLV-, neutered, microchipped
