Pound Cake's Story
Fresh on the rebound, this round mound of pure purring sound is bound to be crowned and gowned, once a new home ground is found, so give it up and give in to the Pound...Cake.

Pound Cake is a buff and demanding soul, a delighful blend of cuddly and rambunctious. He was originally found stray in late 2023, previous neutered and microchipped without any active owner info attached to it. He was quickly adopted, but then found stray again back in December (that new owner did not reply to any contact attempts). He really just craves attention, but can lounge with the best of them, so give him a fluffy pillow directly in the sun and watch as he morphes into a sentient stuffed animal. Pound Cake keeps active as well, and responds with much derp and enthusiasm to catnip toys. His purrs are the stuff of legend, so now that it's getting warm in the city we promise there will be moments you mistake his happy purring from the other room for the sound of dirtbikes down the street. He may also set off more sensitive earthquake detecting equipment, so you might want to contact your local seismologist to give them a heads up.

Pound Cake recovered well from eye surgery and dental surgery back in mid-January, and now that he's all healed up from both surgeries he's ready to party! "Family-Sized" Pound Cake is also a little overweight (he took to his name a tad too well, it would seem), so he should be on a bit of a diet until he can turn those tablespoons of chonk into teaspoon portions.

Pound Cake would do best monopolizing all your attention in an adult-only home without other cats competing for space and without any younger children who might serve him more as tackling dummies than bipedal siblings.

If you want to help a sweetie older cat find peace, security, and love in the second half of his life, Pound Cake is your guy.

------------------------------------

This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Please email their foster parent at adoptions@phillypaws.org to learn more about them!

In order to meet any cats in foster care, you will need to have an approved application first. To get the adoption process started, please submit an adoption application online at phillypaws.org/catapp.

If you have any questions for our adoption team, feel free to email adoptions@phillypaws.org or call 215-238-9901 ext. 30.
