Meet Pork Chop, aka “Porky”! <br/><br/>Porky is a petite little lady, about 5 years old, with a sweet and gentle personality. She was born feral and spent time in a TNR program, which is why she has her adorable left ear tip. Her caregiver saw her sweet potential and brought her indoors to foster, where she has learned that people—and indoor life—aren’t so bad after all. <br/><br/>Porky is a little timid at first, but she is trusting and affectionate once she feels safe. She isn’t really a lap cat, but she absolutely loves curling up beside you and getting plenty of pets. <br/><br/>She enjoys watching birds from the window and quietly taking in everything around her. She also does well with other cats when given a slow, patient introduction.<br/><br/>Porky would be happiest in a calm, quieter home without young children or lots of commotion. She’s the kind of girl who needs a little time to settle in—but once she does, you’ll discover what a sweet little companion she can be. <br/><br/>And yes, she did earn the name “Pork Chop” because when she was living outside, she had quite the appetite! But these days, Porky is much more interested in finding a cozy spot, a sunny window, and someone she can trust. <br/><br/>A little shy, a little sassy, and a whole lot sweet—Porky is ready for her forever family. Porkchop would be a great cat for our foster to adopt program or as I like to call it, our trial period. Our cats are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and tested for FeLV, FIV, and Heartworm disease before being placed in carefully selected homes.<br/><br/>We are foster–based, meaning we do not have a facility. All of our cats are in foster homes in the Southern Maryland area. Our goal is to protect animals in the Chesapeake Bay area and beyond. We connect animals in need to safe homes and facilitate their access to quality veterinary care. Our rescue also provides trap-neuter-return, education, and outreach services to support the well-being of animals within the community at-large. This organization emphasizes transparency and integrity while providing educational resources to support the humane treatment of animals.
