Porcupine's Story
IMPORTANT - HOW TO APPLY: If you're interested in meeting Porcupine, you need to first submit an application on our website: winonahumane.org/adopt. Our Feline Director will then contact you to set up a time to visit (our building is operating with scheduled visits). Please email with any questions about Porcupine or his adoption process!

Personality description:
Some cats come to the shelter eager to meet all the new friends as soon as possible, while others are more guarded and take time for their trust to be earned. The latter describes Porcupine, a reserved boy who’s fairly new to Winona Area Humane Society.

Porcupine came from a house of 9+ cats, and the change to the shelter environment definitely took a toll on his social wellbeing. With that said, every day Porcupine makes more progress and has all the makings to be a dedicated, loving companion in time.

During peaceful, quiet times, Porcupine has been very receptive with trusted caretakers and shows affection for gentle pets (with treat rewards, of course). He also adores spending time with brother Otter, so much so that they’re hardly ever apart — they’re usually sharing a cat bed, resting the day away.

If you consider yourself to be a patient and understanding person and you’re willing to meet an animal where they’re at, then Porcupine needs you. He deserves to find a loving owner who’ll guide him, build his confidence, and allow him to acclimate on his own terms. Porcupine looks forward to a brighter future, hopefully with you by his side!

Additional bio info: male, Domestic Short Hair, brown tabby & white, approximately 2 years old, up-to-date on vaccinations, FIV/FeLV-, neutered, microchipped
