Poptart's Story

Meet Poptart

Poptart is a very special little kitten with an even more special story. She came to us after being rejected from a larger rescue due to reported neurological concerns. We knew she deserved a chance, so we welcomed her in and began learning more about her unique needs.

After observing Poptart, we decided to test her for toxoplasmosis - which came back positive. She has since completed treatment here with us and has been thriving in our care. While we're not entirely sure what caused her ongoing symptoms, Poptart remains a wobbly girl who walks a bit unbalanced, likely due to neurological differences.

Poptart also does not currently use the litter box, which may be related to neurological damage. Because of this, she will need a very special adopter who understands her needs and is willing to provide a supportive environment that helps her succeed. She may benefit from alternative setups, routine, and patience as she continues to grow and adapt.

Despite her challenges, Poptart is an incredibly sweet, affectionate little girl. She is as cute as can be and has a gentle, loving personality that quickly steals your heart. She doesn't let her differences stop her from enjoying life and soaking up attention from her people.

Poptart may need a little extra understanding, but in return she offers so much love and sweetness. We know her perfect person is out there - someone who sees how special she truly is and is ready to give her the safe, loving home she deserves.

April's Kittens's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is designed to ensure cats are placed in safe, stable, and loving homes. Adopters must be at least 20 years old, with at least one person on the adoption contract meeting this requirement. All adoption paperwork is completed electronically, so a valid email and ability to receive text messages are required. Adopters must confirm their housing allows cats by obtaining lease or HOA approval. All household members must agree to adding a new pet to ensure a smooth transition. For the safety of all animals, resident pets must be fully vetted and up to date on vaccinations and preventative care, and adopters should be prepared to provide veterinary records if requested. Above all, adopters must demonstrate the ability to provide a safe, loving, and responsible home for their new cat.
