Meet Poppy (BSM-fostered in TN)

Introducing Poppy!

Poppy is a stunning, 2.5yr old Calico. Poppy came from a hoarding bust in Mississippi. We took in 17 cats from deplorable conditions. All the cats were sick, some were injured, they were skinny, filthy and infested with fleas and intestinal parasites. Poppy weighed just 5lbs and had a huge wound on her neck. With some care and TLC and good food, she healed up well and put on some much needed weight. All the other kitties have found forever homes, but sweet, beautiful Poppy is still looking for hers.

Poppy is 100% an apartment cat. She thrives in small spaces. She likes to feel safe and being in her own little house will her favorite people will do just that! She stayed at our vet's office for a while in their cat room (while recovering from her wound and getting healthy) and did well. Then she went to a foster home (big and super nice) and she hid the entire time. We moved her to another foster home, a quaint 1 bedroom, garden apartment and she's blossomed! She is a little love bug. She will purr and purr when you give her attention. She really likes being pet. It gets her little motor running. She's learning to hang out with her foster and snuggle too. It will take her a little time to acclimate to a new environment, but with love and patience she will make someone a wonderful companion.

From Poppy’s foster mom:

Poppy takes some time to explore, but she loves people! When she arrived I kept her in my office (WFH) and she spent all her time hiding unless I talked to her, then she was in my lap. Over the course of a week I was able to let her into the rest of the house, and she slowly started exploring, mostly running to a hiding spot near me so she could bolt to my lap. She’s continued to settle in and is still very much a lap cat. She spends all of her day as close as possible (if I don’t let her sit on my lap she sits on my feet, whether I’m cooking or typing at my computer). She is extremely snuggly and will use all of her cuteness to ask for pets if it has been more than a few minutes without. The more we bond the more she seems to explore, but she does prefer to have me visible while she checks out new things.

This girl is easily motivated, both food and attention work to get her to come out of her shell, and once she’s comfortable with you she’ll follow you anywhere. She does need a high level of attention, she’s basically a magnet to her person once she gets to know them and won’t want to be far away for long.

Poppy is fully vetted, up to date on vaccines, tested for FeLV/FIV/Heartworms, tested/treated for intestinal parasites, spayed, microchipped and on Selarid (generic Revolution).

Poppy is in TN but will be transported to New England for adoption! The adoption donation is $250 which includes travel from TN, her previous vetting and a microchip.

All cats and kittens will only be adopted out as an INDOOR cats where they will be safest! We don't want anything bad to happen to these precious pets.
