POPPY's Story
AGE: Young - approximately 10-12 months

DESCRIPTION: DSH Bicolor Tabby + White

LOCATION: Foster Home

MY STORY:
Poppy (of the pop machine) gets his name from the pop machine from where he was taking shelter. Our local grocery store contacted us about a poor kitty that was seen in the parking lot. Our volunteer went to the grocery store but with no kitty in sight, she started calling for him and she eventually heard a weak little "meow" coming from the pop machine. She reached around the back of the machine and used her phone to snap some shots and then looked at her photos to see if she could see a kitty...and there he was (photo included). With some patience and food, she was able to coax him out and get him to safety.

Poppy was so skinny, dehydrated, sick, and sad. It was heartbreaking. Once our volunteer got him into a clean cage with a soft bed and food, Poppy ate some food, drank A LOT of water, and then proceeded to sleep for 24 hours.

With some meds and basic care, patience and love, Poppy has grown into a healthy, happy, sweet boy who has learned to trust his foster. He now rubs against her legs and purrs. He is getting used to being held but that will take time. He is just so thankful that we think he will eventually be a lap cat and snuggle buddy.

He is fine with other cats as long as they are nice to him. We think he would be fine with cat-friendly dogs. He would be ok with older children but probably not a good fit for littles who can be loud. Poppy is a neat, clean, and tidy kitty and unlike the Poppy on Seinfeld, he won't ruin your couch! LOL

MORE DETAILS:
Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $100. Adopt a pair of kitties for $150. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms.

We ask that interested parties fill out a cat adoption questionnaire only if you are seriously considering adopting this sweet kitty. You can get the application by going to our website at "http://www.panorapets.com/adopt"
and clicking on the "Cat Adoption Questionnaire" button at the top of the page. Once you have submitted the questionnaire, an adoption coordinator will contact you usually within 24 hours. Please be patient and thank you for your interest in this kitty.

P.E.T.S. supports the "Paws Need Claws" Campaign. Cats are rather attached to their claws; please do not de-claw your cats.
