Pop Tart's Story

Say hello to Pop Tart, a handsome cat with a friendly heart and so much love to give. This charming boy joined us in mid-February after being transferred from an overcrowded shelter, hoping for the fresh start he truly deserves.

Pop Tart arrived at ARF alongside his brother, Popsicle. These two grew up together and made the journey side-by-side. While they do not have to be adopted together, we always like to let potential adopters know when littermates come in as a pair just in case someone is hoping to keep part of a feline family together in their forever home.

Pop Tart is friendly, sweet and ready to be someone's loyal companion. He enjoys attention, companionship and the comfort of a safe place to call his own. He may be a little overshadowed simply because of his color, but we think that just makes him all the more special.

Let's talk about black cats
For centuries, black cats have been symbols of good fortune, prosperity and protection in many cultures around the world. In some traditions, they are believed to bring luck and positive energy into a home. Sailors once considered black cats good luck aboard ships. In parts of the world, they're still seen as a sign of blessings to come.

Yet sadly, black cats (and black dogs, too) are often overlooked in shelters. Through no fault of their own, they're frequently passed by. It's a quiet reality in animal rescue and it tugs at our hearts every time. These beautiful animals wait just a little longer, hoping someone will see past fallacy and snapshots and notice the loving soul underneath.

Pop Tart is a gentle presence who just needs someone to choose him. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate cat and maybe even considering adopting siblings, Pop Tart would love to meet you. Come meet this wonderful boy and see for yourself why black cats truly are magical.

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
