Poopsie Slime Surpise's Story
Poopsie was born July of 2023. She is an incredibly sweet kitty who loves snuggling up with her foster mom with a deep purr. She's a bit quirky and has an affinity for people's shoes -- she often prefers to meet new people by rubbing on their shoes first. Poopsie's best friend, Fart Jacobs, is a black and white kitten with hind-limb paralysis. They spend almost all their time together and can frequently be found grooming each other. Poopsie a bit wary of big dogs but does well if she's given space to feel safe. She loves playing with toys and in boxes. She has a cat tree next with a window seat and she thoroughly enjoys watching birds and squirrels and sniffing the breeze when the weather is nice.

Poopsie Slime Surprise's name was inspired by a dancing unicorn doll with the same name. When Poopsie was only a couple of months old, she was reportedly injured by someone. She was taken to a humane society by a caring person who was concerned that her hind legs had been broken. Fortunately X-rays revealed that her legs were not broken, however, she sustained damage to her spine. The old injuries give her a bit of a wonky gait, along with incontinence. She gets around incredibly well, jumping and climbing cat trees just fine, albeit a bit unstable in her hind end. Poopsie is incontinent and needs to have her bladder expressed three times a day. This is done by holding her in a comfortable position, feeling her abdomen to find her bladder, and gently squeezing it over a puppy pad or other absorbent material until it is empty. Though it requires some guidance and practice, it's a skill most people can learn. She often poops at the same time, but also unconsciously leaves turds behind. She also leaks some urine out between expressions, but still needs to be expressed on a regular basis to prevent urinary tract infections and constipation.

Cats at Seymour Mutts Rescue come with the following medical care already provided:

Spay/neuter
Rabies and distemper (FVRCP) vaccines
Microchip
FeLV/FIV testing
Deworming
Flea preventative

Adoption Process
Seymour Mutts Rescue has open adoption policies based on recommendations from the Humane Society of the United States.
We don't require an adoption application and instead base our adoptions on conversations between potential adopters and foster homes. We do have an optional adoption application to help get the conversation started, or potential adopters can send us a message or email. After chatting with the foster home, the next step is a meet and greet so everyone can get acquainted. If the adoption is a go we'll get the paperwork signed to make it official and send the pet home with their medical records. Same day adoptions are possible but not required.

Adoption Fee: We believe in lowering the barriers to adoption; because of this, we do not require a minimum adoption fee. We do, however, rely on financial contributions. Any funds received is at the discretion of the adopter and goes toward the care of animals in our rescue.

Send us an email or inquiry if you have any questions about Poopsie Slime Surprise or if you're interested in meeting her!
