Ponyo's Story
Look at that sweet face!! How could anyone abandon this kind soul?
Ponyo is a very happy girl after being rescued by a good Samaritan. Ponyo was dumped during the snow storms we just had, found crying inside a closed box freezing, scared and very hungry. A nice young man heard her cries for help, he called AWS and told us about her and without hesitation we took her in.
Upon arrival Ponyo was evaluated by staff, she was matted, over weight and unable to walk well. The great vets and staff at Valley Veterinary Hospital got Ponyo all fixed up. She has now been shaved, up to date on vaccines. Her mobility is getting better everyday! The vets think that her mobility issues are due to her being over weight ( we don't tell her that), she has since been getting daily exercise and is on a diet.
Ponyo loves human interaction, loves loves to be brushed and a booty scratch every now and then.

For more information on Ponyo, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit our website aws-shelter.org for an application Adoption Fees for Senior cats (8yrs and up) is $50 Adult Cats $200 and Kittens under a year $250.
