Polar [Lansford 8]'s Story

Polar came to us as part of a group of 12 cats on a farmstead in the Lansford area. They had worked to spay and neuter some of the cats but the group grew to a size that was more difficult for them to manage. The family reached out for help trapping the cats so we got them started by trapping 6 cats. With some advice, they managed to trap the rest of the group on their own. Polar went in for her spay and upon her tummy being shaved, the vet discovered that Polar already had a spay scar! The family knew they had not spayed a black cat yet so that meant 1) Polar likely was a previously owned pet and 2) there was another black cat out there to catch still. Instead of turning her out to a barn home with the other wild cats - we decided to hang onto her and give her some time to decompress to see who she really was. She has turned out to be so incredibly sweet; we are glad that we made the choice to hang onto her. She deserves to have a forever home that will give her all the sunbathing time she wants, pets and cuddles, and kitty snacks. She is a very laid back kitty that isn't super active. She would do well in many different homes, but would likely flourish in a quieter home with a mature adult. She has been around children as young as 9yo with appropriate interactions. She hasn't roomed with other cats at the rescue but she does enjoy watching them from her space. We have no information about her interactions with dogs. Our adoption process is simple, relationship-centered, and provides supportive education. You can expect your adoption interest to go like this:
1. Submit your electronic form
2. An AEL representative will contact you to schedule a phone call or adoption counsel session.
3. Come to your adoption counsel session to meet the pet you're interested in and ready to take them home with you (dependent on the pet, some need more than one meet)
4. If the pet is determined to be a good fit with your family by both you and the AEL representative, you will sign your contract, submit your adoption payment, and take your new friend home!

Let us know you're interested here: http://tinyurl.com/AELadoptionsquad
