Polar Bear - At Pet Supplies Plus's Story

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Age: 5 months (as of 2/19/26)
Gender: Female
Litter Box Trained: Yes
Declawed: No
Adoption Fee: $175 + $50 refundable deposit

Am I good with:
Cats: Yes, must have another cat in home
Dogs: Yes
Children: 5+ she is not a fan of fast moving people

About me: Polar Bear is an interesting kitty! Her most loved thing in the world is food, if she could eat all day she absolutely would, so she is on a schedule to be fed twice a day (wet and dry food twice daily per the vet to help with weight gain). Her immune system is not the best and she is prone to slight eye infections. She prefers cats over people once she gets adjusted and would love to be in a home with another cat that would like to play with her. When it comes to people she can be affectionate once she warms up, but it tends to be on her terms only or she will run away sometimes. She likes to sleep right down the middle of the bed once she really trusts you! She becomes the most affectionate when she wants food and will become very persistent until she wins (even if it is hours earlier than the actual feeding time!). She is a professional zoomie master and nothing in her way will stop her! She believes that rules do not exist when it comes to her, she thinks all counters and spaces are hers to be on and being told no only means yes again minutes later. While she is weird in personality and a bit in health, she is quite fun and makes up for it by becoming best friends with your other cat(s).

This cat has been at ARP since: 12/5/25

--
The Animal Rescue Project is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet.

Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible.

All cats and kittens are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medical treatment to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and mites they may have. All cats and kittens are feline leukemia tested, and cats at least a year old are also tested for feline immuno virus. Each cat or kitten receives the FVRCP vaccine; if a kitten stays with us long enough, two or three boosters will be given after the initial vaccination.

Most cats and older kittens are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of kittens not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
