Poke`'s Story

Poke is the spunkiest, most energetic yet calming boy a cat lover could ask for! He loves playing with his toys, following you from room to room, and then curling up for hours of snuggles. Poke is incredibly social and greets everyone at the door like the true gentleman he is. At night, he's happiest tucked in beside you, handing out kisses and extra cuddles. Poke came to us after what was thought to be a urinary blockage. After further evaluation and many visits, veterinarians discovered that part of his anatomy was malformed and required reconstructive surgery. He healed beautifully and has never let it slow him down or diminish his silly, loving personality. Poke is also FIV positive. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is often misunderstood, but many cats with FIV live long, happy, completely normal lives. FIV is primarily spread through deep bite wounds, not through normal social behaviors like sharing food bowls, grooming, or cuddling. Because of this, FIV-positive cats can often live peacefully with other friendly, non-aggressive cats. FIV simply means a cat's immune system can be a little more sensitive if exposed to illness. With routine veterinary care, good nutrition, and an indoor lifestyle, many FIV-positive cats live full lifespans without complications. Poke does not require any special medical treatment-just the same love and care you'd give any cat. Poke does best on a food-sensitive dry diet, and with regular checkups and the loving care you'd give any cat, he will continue to thrive. With his beautiful markings, pink nose, and big expressive eyes, it's hard not to fall in love with him. Poke is a very social boy who loves his people and will happily bring you toy mice, keep you company throughout the day, and tuck you in at night. Poke's Diet: Poke currently eats Hill's Prescription Diet z/d Skin & Food Sensitivities Hydrolyzed Chicken Flavor Dry Cat Food and does best staying on this diet. This sweet boy is more than ready to find his forever home and the people he can love for a lifetime. Poke cannot wait to meet you!
