Poison Ivy (PI)'s Story

PI- (Poison Ivy) is a super sweet girl who loves to eat her canned food and play with toys. She loves to purr and make biscuits. PI loves the finer things in life like soft beds and temperature controlled environments, haha. All jokes aside, she is really a wonderful girl who deserves the best!

PI had lived her whole life outside with several other cats. She was previously healthy, but in June 2024 we noted PI to be unsteady on her feet to the point that she would occasionally fall over. The property owner stated that she was probably stepped on by a dog. PI has since seen a vet for these issues and all tests came back normal. The vet does believe her issues to be trauma related. PI is no longer falling over, but you will notice her to walk a little funny and now has a little wobble to her walk.

Poison Ivy has now been diagnosed with asthma (as of May 2025). PI will require medication (inhalers) twice a day for the rest of her life. She also may need vet visits when her asthma flares. She is doing pretty well with her treatments. It takes about 10 minutes per day to complete her inhalers.

PI has become a lap cat in her foster home! She loves sitting in your lap, purring, and making biscuits. She has also adapted to the other cats and small dog in her foster home. She might need a long (1-3 month) acclimation time, but she has proven that she does love other animals.
